Here is a list of (only) some of the products that beauty gurus on YouTube made me want to buy. Some of them were great, others disappointed me.
This thing was all the rage on YouTube for a while and I really don’t get why. It did absolutely NOTHING for me. Ok, if you’ve read more than one of my posts, you’ll have noticed that finding the right concealer has been one of my biggest struggles in life (I mean, apart from my general anxiety disorder, OCDs, eating disorders, health anxiety, etc.) I hate the sponge applicator, I find the consistency hard to blend and at the time I bought mine, it was hard to find the right shade (the shade range has been extended since).
The Beauty Blender is a game changer for anyone who starts using it, and I’m no exception. I can’t stand the thought of living without it. Being the unadventurous person that I am, I’ve always stuck to the regular pink one, despite the abundance of colours and sizes the brand has released. And that’s fine.
The Vamp Stamp is a tool that will help you create a winged eyeliner look. If you think this tool will magically make your eyes look like Dita Von Teese’s, you’re in for a world of hurt. It takes a while to get the hang of it and it still requires you to kind of know how to put eyeliner on. After all, all it does is the wing. You’ll still have to do the rest of your eye and you’ll still have to make sure you’re placing the stamp the same way, height and angle on both eyes. And, to me, that didn’t come easily. The ink that comes with it is of excellent quality, it doesn’t bleed and it lasts all day/night.
I’ve never understood why the Subculture palette got so much shit for having super powdery eyeshadows. Modern Renaissance eyeshadows are the same and that’s fine! That’s actually what makes the pigments so easy to blend and that’s what makes you feel like a makeup genius. ANY look you’ll go for with this palette will turn out fine. That’s how good it is.
Nothing against you, Maybelline. It’s just that I have so many Maybelline products that the likelihood of me not liking one of them is much higher than the likelihood of me not liking a Sisley product because I’m too poor to even think about Sisley. Zoella used to talk about this mascara all the time and I figured that if I bought it too, my eyes would look just as amazing as hers. F’course not. My eyelashes are just too short for the wand and I kept poking the inside of my eye whenever I tried to get close to the root of my eyelashes. Gave it to my best friend, who happens to have Zoellian lashes, and she thinks it’s awesome.
