The problem when you start using The Ordinary products and you are happy with them (Niacinamide review here) is that you just can’t stop wanting to try out more. The latest addition to my Ordinary addiction is the AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. Can you tell I’ve been listening to Eminem? I’ve been working on my rhymes.
I’ve kind of grown tired of sheet masks and quick fix / gentle exfoliating masks, and I’ve been on the lookout for something that’ll exfoliate the sh*t out of my skin. I think I’ve found it.

What will it do for me?
- exfoliate (duh)
- decongest pores
- fight blemishes
- improve skin radiance and even skin tone
- improve the appearance of skin texture
- reduce fine lines (with continued use)
How and when to use The Ordinary Peeling Solution
- use twice a week maximum (I’d advise once a week if your skin is a bit more sensitive or you’re new to chemical exfoliation)
- apply on dry skin and don’t leave it on longer than 10 minutes
- don’t use on very sensitive, compromised or peeling skin
- only use if you’re familiar with chemical exfoliation
- use in the evening, limit sun exposure and always use SPF
Would I recommend the ordinary peeling solution?
YES, JA, OUI, SI.
The results are immediate: your skin is visibly more radiant and feels so smooth even after just one use.
I’ve been using it twice a week for four weeks now and it has helped evening my skin tone although it has to be noted that my skin routine is already exfoliation-heavy compared to what other people might consider regular skincare.
As far as fine lines and acne scars are concerned, I will write an update in a few months to tell if I’ve noticed a visible difference.
If you are new to chemical exfoliation, I would err on the side of caution and maybe test it on a small area of my face first to see how my skin reacts. A tingling sensation is normal upon application, but if your skin is burning, forget about the 10 minute mark and take it off. You can slowly work your way up to 10 minutes over the course of a few weeks.
Unsurprisingly, your skin might feel a bit more tight than usual, so make sure you hydrate the hell out of it after using The Ordinary Peeling Solution.
The price is a blessing and those 30ml will last you months.
